We need God's Laws to protect us against our own 'human nature' which is evolution's instincts for insatiable greed, mindless exploitation, and merciless violence that perfects and replaces animal species in The Great Game of LIfe

We need Jesus' love to save us from self destruction with the weapons we have created, in the natural world we have ravaged, and the pollution we have caused.

We have been created with the unique ability to understand, appreciate and enjoy the wonders and beauty of the world.

But we have used our intellect and creativity to behave like animals in a continual mindless, merciless competition to devise ever better weapons to kill each other.

The Laws that God has given us for a peaceful, just and enjoyable life, and the added threats of earthly and eternal punishment if they are broken, has not freed humans from enslavement to the instincts of evolution with their appeal of power, wealth, and military glory, motivated by greed, fear and hatred of all who are 'other'.

It was obvious by the age of the wall city tribal kingdoms that warred with each other instead of cooperating for a better life and the defense against neighboring empires, that the Laws were not working and had, instead, created an exploitive religious elite.

The only other answer to save us from eventual self-destruction, was brought by Jesus. It was to use evolution's instincts for the nurturing love we need to care for our children.

Jesus said we must have compassion and love for each other, beginning with our neighbors, and then encompassing the whole world.

So this is where we are today, unable to control evolution's instincts which are called our 'human nature' and also 'ambition' and 'heroism'.

Pollution is making our world unlivble.
We are using up the resources of the planet.
The doomsday clock is approaching midnight.

God didn't have the answer with Laws.
Jesus didn't have the answer with love..
Will there be an apocalypse leaving just an isolated, righteous remnant?

Or will humans be a failed experiment, leaving the world to the dolphins and whales, which Scripture says God delights in watching play in the sea.
